Aviation is not itself inherently dangerous. However, manned flight is extremely unforgiving of any negligence, error, or shortcomming in preparation. Even before the Wright brothers flew their first heavier than air plane early in the 20th century, people hade lost their lives trying to rise above the earth and fly with the birds. And over the centuries, there has been a public fascination with flights that ended fatally, tragically, or mysteriously. Public interest in these "Flights of No Return," has always been high, along with the aircraft and people involved. Some, like Amelia Erhardt, the Challenger Disaster, and MH370 are well known and still resonate with people across the world. Others are more obscure, but no less interesting and intriguing to those who are aviation enthusiasts. Whatever your interests, you're probably going to enjoy the subject of this week's Military Monday (#MilitaryMonday on the Writestream Radio Network (@Writestream)). Author, historian, journalist, documentary filmmaker, and host John D. Gresham (@greshamj01) has invited Zenith Press author Steven Ruffin (@steve_ruffin) to discuss his new book, FLIGHTS OF NO RETURN. FLIGHTS OF NO RETURN Chronicles flight accidents from early ballooning to the latest in airline disasters. So join us today at 1 PM Eastern Time for what is sure to be an intriguing and informative show.
